Turn the Barrel.

That's a new phrase in Hitting that's been popping up of late.

But does it reflect what the best hitters do? Actually?

Turn the Barrel in Hitting?

The problem with the cue to Turn the Barrel, when it comes to Hitting, is that it's not what I see in this picture, which is one of my favorites of Mickey Mantle.

At a minimum, Mickey Mantle is NOT Turning the Barrel with his HANDS, which is what some want hitters to do.
