David Price's Pitching Mechanics
I wrote this piece about David Price when he was with the
Tigers. Unfortunately, while the Blue Jays left him alone, I saw
some signs that — for some, inexplicable reason — the Red Sox
made some changes to David Price's pitching mechanics.
And I did NOT like what I saw.

While I absolutely love Justin Verlander's arm action, and
his entire movement pattern circa 2009-2012, if you asked
me who my single favorite active pitcher is mechanics-wise, and
who you and/or your pitchers should study, I'd have to say
David Price.

Among other things, David Price's pitching mechanics are an
absolutely textbook example of
good
Timing; the proper position of the forearm at stride foot
contact.

Notice how, at stride foot contact, rather than being FLAT as
you see in the (sadly) increasingly common
Flat Arm Syndrome, David Price's arm is UP and at the
Ready Position.

I like David Price's pitching mechanics so much that I spent
the Summer of 2015 driving around the Midwest, collecting 120fps
video clips of David Price's pitching mechanics.
