Sins of the Fathers

I'm a survivor of the Catholic sex abuse crisis.

In the late 1970s and early 1980s I was sexually exploited, abused, and ultimately assaulted — raped — at The Church of the Immacolata in Richmond Heights, Missouri, a suburb of St. Louis.

Abuse that was witnessed, at least in part, by then Father and now Cardinal Timothy Dolan.

My story includes...

In addition to this executive summary, I've also put together an...

...that gives a high level look at what happened, when.

Executive Summary

The situation for survivors in the Archdiocese of St. Louis and, presumably, elsewhere, is very much like SPOTLIGHT era Boston.

But worse.

The problem is that the St. Louis press, and the Attorney General of the state of Missouri, Eric Schmitt, failed the SPOTLIGHT Test.

Rather than refusing to "get on the same page" and "play ball," the institutions of St. Louis have decided that their job is to PROTECT, rather than EXPOSE, the Archdiocese of St. Louis.

It's not that St. Louis is BETTER than Boston. Things are just HIDDEN better.

In part by the abuse of the abused.

Abuse by Fr. LeRoy VALENTINE

I was sexually exploited, abused, and assaulted — raped — by a priest named Father LeRoy Valentine at the Church of the Immacolata in St. Louis, MO in the late 1970s and early 1980s.

Seen by Cardinal DOLAN

My own experience, and the testimony of others, affirms that then Father and now Cardinal Timothy Dolan knew what Fr. Valentine was doing to us at the Church of the Immacolata in Richmond Heights, Missouri, a suburb of St. Louis, where both served as parish priests from Summer 1977 until Summer 1979.

Gaslighted by Dolan in 2002

In early March 2002 I went to ArchStL as a result of the news that Father LeRoy Valentine had been accused of abuse. By then (auxiliary) Bishop Timothy Dolan told me nothing happened; that Fr. Valentine hadn't done the things he was accused of. That he COULDN'T have done them. Which is weird, given that Father Valentine resigned a few weeks later.

Not Notified by Dolan in 2002

A few days after I talked to then Bishop Timothy Dolan, Father LeRoy Valentine resigned. Dolan never notified me or circled back to tell me that my experiences and memories might indeed mean something.

ADMITTED BY ARCHSTL

My abuse was admitted -- kind of -- in an e-mail Sandra Price of ArchStL sent to me on February 5, 2018. Admitted amidst lies and lawyer-speak, but admitted nonetheless.

Pope's VOS ESTIS = Sham

As I discuss in Vos estis lux mundi: The Reality, I have spent the past year trying to let the Vatican and the Pope know that the Archdiocese of St. Louis in violation of Pope Francis' motu propio Vos estis lux mundi. Nobody cares.

St. Louis = Spotlight but Worse

St. Louis is basically SPOTLIGHT-era Boston but worse because it's isn't just Eric Schmitt, the Attorney General of the State of Missouri, who is trying to protect the Archdiocese of St. Louis. The press is also complicit in the cover-up. That includes KMOV, KSDK, and KMOX.

Abuse of the Abused by ArchStL

Lying to the Court = Perjury

In 2014 the Archdiocese of St. Louis UNDER COURT ORDER produced a list of allegations they had received. It was incomplete. My report wasn't accurate and I know of at least one other report that is missing. Isn't lying to the court Perjury? And Obstruction of Justice? Thus RICO?

Lying to the People of St. Louis

In April 2018 ArchStL told everybody I was lying and that my story changed multiple times.

Smear Campaign

Even though my abuse was "acknowledged" by the Archdiocese of St. Louis, I remain the subject of a Smear Campaign, inluding bogus allegations that I made Terroristic Threats against ArchStL.

Gaslighted by ArchStL

On May 9, 2011 I met with a Review Team from ArchStL. They told me the problems I was having — bankruptcy, divorce, nervous breakdown — were my father's fault.

Never Contacted My Psychologist

In July 2011 Deacon Phil Hengen told me he wanted to talk to my psychologist. He never did, despite the best efforts of my psychologist and me.

Not Notified Valentine Removed

In May 2013 the Archdiocese of St. Louis permanently removed Fr. Valentine. I was never told, contacted, or (finally) offered help.

Assistance Coordinator Sham

While USCCB talks about and advertises that every diocese makes an Assistance Coordinator available to survivors, at no point what I told of the existence of, put in touch with, or contacted by an Assistance Coordinator.

MO AG Press Conference

I attempted to attend the 2019.9.13 MO AG press conference announcing the results of the investigation of ArchStL. Instead of being welcomed with compassion, I instead faced outright, naked hostility and the MO AG had the police throw me out of the building.
