The movie "Spotlight" told a terrible story, but at least the reporters of the Boston Globe played the role of the hero.

Sadly, that's not the case in St. Louis.

For reasons I don't completely understand, but that probably are related to a twisted sense of civic pride, the media and press of St. Louis are doing more to cover up misdeeds than they are to reveal them.

St. Louis Has Surpassed Spotlight

The story of the abuse crisis in St. Louis, and the cover-up, is now bigger than Spotlight, because the media is involved.

The local CBS affiliate KMOV has video of the MO AG office terrorizing me and won't air/web it.

And the local NBC affiliate KSDK knows and won't investigate.

And I don't know why.

What I do know is everybody's trying to protect everybody.

And somebody.

Or something?

I assume they are trying to protect St. Louis? And ArchStL? And ++Dolan?

St. Louis is a big small town and I THINK the thought of the first American Pope (++Dolan) being from St. Louis has people all kinds of stupid.

That or the city is REALLY insecure and people have decide NOTHING negative can be said about the city.

And that's my generous interpretation of the situation.
