I recently returned from a trip to Florida to talk to some major league teams. While down there, my son and I managed to catch a few games, including a Cardinals game. At the Cardinals game, I happened to catch a home run by Cardinals prospect Matt Carpenter.

The thing that intrigues me about Matt Carpenter's swing is that it holds up quite well in comparison to a number of major leaguers, including Ryan Howard.

While I have a slight concern about Matt Carpenter's ability to cover the top of the strike zone, and I don't know how good his eye is, I think he has significant potential.
